Hand Lettered Sunshine

Hand Lettered Sunshine is just little old me, Julie, who started this hobby with colorful notes passed in middle school hallways to friends. We had contests to see who could write the most creative notes to brighten one another's days.

Making cards is a family tradition. Decades ago, my schoolteacher grandmother became known as “the card lady“ for her commitment to send at least ten cards a week to community members needing encouragement or a pick me up. My mom continued the tradition, adding her paper crafting talent to make her own cards. After starting calligraphy in college as a side hustle (often as gifts for my engaged friends' wedding invitations), I continued as the "third generation card lady," sending fun decorated cards to people in my life.  My teacher friends like displaying the notes of encouragement in their classrooms or sharing them with students needing a smile. By making cards, I honor my family by mailing "sunshine in an envelope." When you order from me, you'll sit back and let me continue to share the same joy with your  friends, family, and colleagues.

I specializing in handlettering, calligraphy, illustrations, and handwritten cards with a commitment to translating your message into one you will be proud to send. My goal is to ensure each piece resonates deeply with its recipient, making them feel seen and valued. Hopefully, my quirky childhood hobby translates into a talent of drawing your ideas into reality. Whether it be drawing your pet, hobby, logo, other specific doodles, or a simple message with specialized handwriting, I strive to exceed your expectations.

My cards are also applicable and adaptable for corporate work, with artwork which can be tailored to professional settings. Corporate (and large personal) orders will reflect a discount.  Additionally, I'm versatile in crafting pieces in various languages, ensuring cards you send will connect across cultural and linguistic boundaries.

It would be my honor to share messages written by you, on cards designed by me, in an effort to evoke joy, inspire hope, and spread love in every stroke and letter.
